ID for Shorelines Casino Belleville

The door rules at Shorelines Casino Belleville are short, and most of them fit in a wallet. The three strips below turn solid when your age, your ID and your status are in order.

Nineteen and over

Ontario bars anyone under 19 from entering or remaining in a casino, with the exception of staff on the job. At Shorelines Casino Belleville, the Great Canadian guest code of conduct turns away anyone under 19. A family evening around the bay is no exception. A teenager travelling with your group cannot wait inside. Before driving up Bell Boulevard, decide where younger travellers will spend that part of the evening.

On a My PlayBreak casino break?

  1. 19 or olderOntario keeps anyone younger than 19 out of its casinos.

  3. No casino breakA My PlayBreak casino break bars entry to every Ontario casino.

Welcome in

Original photo ID only

Anyone who appears under 30 will be asked for ID, so being 19 or older is just one part of the check. Every guest needs an acceptable government-issued photo ID, shown as the physical original. A licence photographed or scanned onto a phone does not satisfy that rule. Staff can request an additional piece of ID as well.

If you are unsure whether a card counts, call 613-689-9100 before the drive. That call can save a turned-back evening, whether the trip starts in Picton or Napanee.

Taking a casino break

My PlayBreak is OLG's self-exclusion program for people who want time away from casinos. A casino break lasts 3 or 6 months, or 1 to 5 years, and bars entry to every Ontario casino. Once chosen, the term cannot be changed. Choose the length with that in mind. People enrol through the OLG Support Centre at 1-800-387-0098, with staff at a casino, or at a PlaySmart Centre.

Smoking in marked areas

Smokers and vapers must keep to the designated areas of the property. Between hands, that means heading to one of those spots instead of lighting up right where you are. Cannabis is banned across the whole property, inside and out. Leave it at your accommodation around the bay.

Questions people ask

Will a guest over 30 still be asked for ID?

Staff ask anyone who looks under 30, so it depends on how you look to them. Carry original government-issued photo ID either way, because everyone must be able to show it.

Does a scan of a licence on a phone work?

No. The ID has to be the original physical document; a phone scan or photo does not count, and staff may ask for an additional ID as well.

Can someone under 19 come along for supper?

Not inside the casino. Ontario does not allow anyone under 19 to enter or remain in a casino, apart from staff who are working. Supper at the casino falls under that rule as well.

Does My PlayBreak cover online sites too?

A My PlayBreak casino break is about casinos you walk into: it bars entry to every Ontario casino. For regulated online sites, BetGuard at betguard.ca opts you out of all of them at once, OLG.ca included.
